About This Game

You have secured a contract to build the world’s first vertical megacity – the Skytropolis. Start with a plot of land and build your dream tower up into the sky! From the architectural design to every part of the interior, you are in full control of creating your skyscraper. Do you rush growth and use resources from surrounding cities, or do you invest in sustainability with eco-friendly infrastructure? Be warned - the more you build, the more you need to balance your Skytropolis’ needs.

  • You are the architect. Design your dream skyscraper the way you want it.
  • Balance is everything. Make your Skytropolis sustainable by going green, improving the lives of your citizens, and managing your economy.
  • Prefer a hands-on approach? Play in virtual reality! Don’t own a VR headset? Play on traditional monitors in desktop mode.
  • Tower mogul or inspired architect? Grow your empire in career mode or explore your creativity in sandbox mode.
  • Unlock more than 50 modules to enhance your megacity.
  • Meet demanding challenges to earn rewards and grow even faster.
  • Proud of your work? Share your Skytropolis on Steam Workshop!

Great care has been taken so that Skytropolis can be played both in room-scale VR or on your desktop (non-VR). Whether you prefer managing your city behind a monitor, or walking amidst your citizens, the choice is yours. a09c17d780

Honestly, I regret buying this game for $20...
    It's worth more like $5.
I played it for 30 minutes, took a break, never played it again for a while.

NOTE: This is my experience in VR.

    Cons:
    Confusing menus.
    Not really any "fun" challenges.
    Repetitive gameplay.
Unfortunately high price for the quality.
You have to zoom in and out in order to move around.

    Pros:
    Original idea.
    Good-ish graphics.
Developers are very friendly and open, which is rare to see. Most game developers are blind and useless, unlike these.

I wouldn't suggest buying this game unless it's on sale unfortunately, but it has a lot of potential...
Once I feel like this game is worth it's cost I will change this review.. This game checks a lot of boxes for me. when I first got a vive I was going into google blocks and building tiny low-poly cities out of bricks and making ugly trees - this game is very sim-tower-ish and you have to balance your residents desires and make something that's not ugly.

the team appears responsive thus far (review made within two weeks of launch)

if you like building towers and organizing things, you might enjoy this game. very fun design\/concept. love the art, they've got the underpinnings, but I'm thinking they need to work a bit on the informational interface with the player to inform them of a few things better. overall, definetly worth the buy, if you're hesitant, wait a month and come back to see if the dev's have kept the pace up. concept and technology is all there for a great game, so far very fun even with limited info. reading the help page (stickied to this discussion forum) is a must. experimenting and trying over is a given for the first few runs. soon you'll be watching your little guys wander around your parks and buildings with a smug contentment as you construct your gleaming testament to man's folly.. I have been waiting a while for a game like this for VR and I was not disappointed. I was on the fence about this one at first but this game is exactly what I was hoping it would be: a sim city\/sim tower-style management game that feels great in VR.

I am hoping they make Rift\/Touch-specific controls at some point (the time control menu feels a bit awkward) but as-is it works well enough that it does not detract much. There is a decent amount of content to work with and there are still some things I haven't unlocked. The goals and challenges really help with pacing so you pretty much always feel like you have something to work toward. I hope they continue to add and polish it going forward as it has a lot of potential but the core gameplay is solid as is. Overall: looks great, feels great, I'm having a blast!. This is a simulation resource management title, where you will build a tall city, while managing your resources at the same time.

Playable in both PC and VR, you will be building various facilities, such as an office (of various sizes), residentials, parks, museums, school, hotel, restaurant, parks, everything to keep your occupants happy and satisfy their demand while racking in those cash to build more.

control is intuitive in VR, and gameplay is easy. but resource management part is a little hard. There's also a sandbox mode where you can just build it whatever you want instead of following clearing missions for those coins.. Adorable city builder which really shines in VR roomscale setup (a sense that can't be conveyed from mere 2D screenshots). Being able to move around the city and scale it up and down as desired makes it feel like a very satisfying toybox, and you can zoom in and follow your people around, or walk around your city like a giant.

I found the construction aspects the most satisfying as you get the sense of putting together a tower in virtual space. An appealing simulator which will appeal to those who are looking for a more relaxing, meditative VR experience.

    Great chill soundtrack too!

I'm a sucker for building games. This one just hit the right nerve for me.

The VR control interface is very intuitive. It works really well with the VR setup, you walk around your tower place the buildings with your hand, easy peasy.

The gameplay is simple but engaging. You bild up your floors, satisfy your inhabitants needs and unlock more and more different buildings, some of which actually are so tall, that they take up space on the floor above them. This makes the optimal placement of buildings a bit more of a challenge.

Graphicly Speaking it has a "comic" look to it and it has alot of details. You can "zoom" in and look at the interrior of the buildings which is a nice touch.

I think this is a pretty fun game and if one day you feel lazy and don't want to put on your VR gear and move around, you can just play it in desktop mode aswell. A good game, the price looks high for a vr game at first but there is alot of content here. Worth it in my book.. Loved it, been waiting for something like this in VR. The idea of the roomscale skyscraper makes so munch sense given your playspace. More complex and detailed than i expected. a couple of glitches but otherwise good. Great job!. Gameplay Video:
